This exhibition gives a complete account of Paolo Gasparini's career, emphasizing not only his photography but also the photobook, which is a fundamental narrative mechanism for defining the history of photography in Latin America. His images articulate a critique of consumer society while also uncovering a certain fascination with the way we are enticed by advertising and marketing through his own visual language.
KBr Photography Center approached the Flama 21 project with the critical participation of four Barcelona schools that concentrate on the study and teaching of photography: Grisart, Idep Barcelona, IEFC, and the Elisava Faculty of Design and Engineering. Laura Gálvez-Rhein, Blanca Munt, Gael del Ro, and Gunnlöð Jóna Rúnarsdóttir were the four photographers chosen for the 2021 edition of this exhibition.
KBr Guests offers a fresh perspective on the museum's activities: the program includes discussions and conferences in which the exhibition's protagonists, the photographers, and curators, as well as experts from the national and international photographic scene including critics, writers, and others, share their perspectives on the museum's current exhibitions.
This online series, directed by Marta Dahó, highlights the various aspects of the complex and shifting relationship between photography and exhibitions across time. The eight seminars round out a fascinating cross-cutting focus on historiography, theory, and curatorial approaches. This activity is a must-attend for people who enjoy learning about the history of photography.
